POLYMER ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE, ITS LAMINATE AND THEIR MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane of a small wettability difference against water on both faces of the electrolyte surface to make easy a handling in a continuous process and provide an electrolyte membrane of which both sides have a high wettability so that adhesiveness in a membrane-electrode interface can be enhanced in a process for fixing an electrode.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method manufacture an ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane with 30° or less of a difference of a water contact angle of one face of the polymer electrolyte membrane and a water contact angle of the other face. The method includes a process in which a polymer electrolyte containing an ion conductive polymer having an aromatic family group on a principal chain and/or a side chain, and moreover, having an ion exchange group on the aromatic family group is dissolved in a solvent to prepare a polymer electrolyte solution and a process in which the electrolyte solution is made to cast on a supporting base material and a laminate of the polymer electrolyte membrane is formed on the supporting base material. The supporting base material is removed from the formed laminate to obtain a polymer electrolyte membrane.
