<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety valve for a vehicle safety device, having simple construction for improving, under high-temperature environment, the safety of the vehicle safety device equipped with a gas generator. <P>SOLUTION: A hood lifting device as one of vehicle safety devices has an actuator for moving a piston 2 with the supply of gas from the micro gas generator 4 to a closed space 3 encircled by a cylinder 1 and the piston 2 so that a vehicle hood is lifted up by a piston rod 5 connected to the piston 2, wherein the safety valve 6 is formed in the cylinder 1 forming the closing space 3. The safety valve 6 comprises a through-hole 6a formed in the cylinder 1, and a sealing member 6a for blocking the through-hole 6a, the sealing member 6b being formed of a material having a lower melting point than the cylinder 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
