<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control unit capable of preventing the occurrence of inconvenience upon stopping a motor by changing the stop control of the motor according to the aspects of irregularities. <P>SOLUTION: In a motor control unit S, when a CPU 11 detects abnormalities while a motor generator MG rotates in the normal direction, the CPU 11 outputs a driving signal for supplying drive current for rotating the motor generator MG in the reverse direction with the motor generator MG to a driving circuit 14, thereby performing the stop control of the motor generator MG.
