<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed transmission modular connector which reduces crosstalk elements and reflection elements across a broad frequency band in combination with a modular plug. <P>SOLUTION: The modular connector 1 has conductive paths in the inside of a housing 3 having an open plug insertion inlet 2, and capacitance elements that are composed of conductive patterns connected to each conductive path and that create capacitive connection between the conductive paths. A configuration is determined using a gap between the conductive paths in a contact lead portion in which the conductive paths are arranged parallel and close to each other and a length of the contact lead portion as setting elements, and another configuration is determined by properly setting the length of the conductive path between the connection position of one conductive path and that of the plurality of capacitance elements. These configurations are used independently or in combination to correlate the frequency characteristics in size and phase of a crosstalk element generated at the modular connector 1 to the frequency characteristics of a crosstalk element generated at a modular plug so that crosstalk is reduced when the modular connector 1 is combined with the modular plug. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
