<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor for efficiently lubricating a seal portion of a rotary shaft, a rotary shaft bearing, and a thrust bearing, that prevents a refrigerant from leaking to the outside of a housing along the rotary shaft. <P>SOLUTION: A shaft seal chamber is divided into a seal member side 30a and a bearing side 30b by a partition wall 31. A crankcase 6 communicates with the seal member side 30a of the shaft seal chamber 30 via a first passage 32 arranged in a front housing 3. The crankcase 6 directly communicates with the bearing side 30b of the shaft seal chamber 30 via a second passage 33 arranged in the front housing 3. A discharged refrigerant passage 34 is obliquely provided in a drive shaft 7 so that the refrigerant gas in a discharge-side pressure region is introduced to the bearing side 30b of the shaft seal chamber 30 while in contact with the partition wall 31. The partition wall 31 has a hollow disk-like shape.
