<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of improving the brightness and resolution of an image to be projected and capable of altering, by a simple configuration, the size or position of an image to be projected, and to provide a projection apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes: a plurality of pre-projection optical systems 2 and 3 having spacial light modulation elements 30R, 30G, and 30B; and a projecting optical means 40 that projects images modulated by the spacial light modulation elements 30R, 30G, and 30B of the pre-projection optical systems 2 and 3. The projecting optical means 40 has: a plurality of first projecting means 41 that are disposed for the corresponding pre-transfer optical systems 2 and 3 and project the images of the spacial light modulation elements 30R, 30G, and 30B of the pre-projection optical systems 2 and 3 so that at least parts of them are imaged in different areas; and a second projecting means 42 that projects the images in or near the predetermined imaging positions of the plurality of first projecting means 41 onto a projection screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
