PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic thin film transistor which forms a further stable self-organized monomolecular film while holding a high reactivity between source/drain electrodes and an organic semiconductor layer and exhibits an electric characteristic improved in the charge-transfer rate. SOLUTION: The organic thin film transistor includes a substrate 1, a gate electrode 2, a gate insulation layer 3, the source/drain electrodes 4/5, and the organic semiconductor layer 7. Wherein, a single bond type phosphate ester based self-organized monomolecular film 6 is formed which does not form intermolecular crosslinking bond between the source/drain electrodes 4/5 and the organic semiconductor layer 7.
