PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal, the overall thickness of which can be made small and whose step size between a first case and a second case can be made small. SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 includes a first projection portion 27, which is arranged at a position corresponding to a display 16 in the back side 11A of the upper case (first case) 11, a first flat portion 28 which is adjacent to the first projection portion 27, a second projection portion 31 which is arranged, at a position corresponding to a main operating portion 22 in a front face 12A of a lower case (second case) 12, and a second flat portion 32 which is adjacent to the second projection portion 31.
