摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal device capable of improving viewing angle characteristics by a simple method and performing a bright and high-contrast display. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal device comprises: a step of disposing an alignment layer material 18d changing a pre-tilt angle in accordance with an amount of light irradiation, on a substrate 71; and a step of radiating a plurality of light beams different in the amount of irradiation to the alignment layer material 18d through a mask 70 for manufacturing the alignment layer, which has a plurality of light-transmissive layers 74 and 75 different in light transmittance, to form a plurality of alignment areas different by pre-tilt angle within a plane of the alignment layer material 18d.
