PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts as well as curbing a scream of a brake by improving rigidity around a ceiling opening. SOLUTION: There is provided an opposed type disc brake with a structure in which a friction pad 36 is taken out of and put into the rectangular ceiling opening 16 formed in a bridge of a caliper body 10. A fitting frame 18 fitted into the ceiling opening 16 is provided. A pair of the friction pads 36 is hung on the fitting frame 18 and a body guide 30 is suspended from four corners of the fitting frame 18. As a result, the body guide 30 sandwiches both ends of a rotor in the pair of the friction pads 36 in the circumferential direction, and acts as a torque transmitting member.
