PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy work for replacing a belt. SOLUTION: The belt retainer 70 is arranged outside the outer periphery of one or both of pulleys 61, 62 of a belt type power transmission mechanism which has the belt 63 wound between the driving pulley 61 and the driven pulley 62, for preventing the removal of the belt 63 from the pulleys 61, 62. The belt retainer 70 is formed in a side-view approximate S-shape and in a rear-view approximate V-shape by bending a rod material.
