PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard film excellent in abrasion resistance by improving hardness, oxidation resistance and tenacity, and also to provide a hard film coated tool formed by using this hard film. SOLUTION: The hard film is coated on a surface of the tool and composed of Al<SB>1-a-b-c</SB>Si<SB>a</SB>Mg<SB>b</SB>M<SB>c</SB>(B<SB>x</SB>C<SB>y</SB>N<SB>z</SB>), M is at least more than one element selected from Nb, V, Zr, Cr, Ti, Cu and Y, and it characteristically satisfies: 0≤a≤0.35, 0≤a≤02, 0.03≤a+b≤0.5, and 0≤c≤0.1 when a, b, c, x, y, z are atomic rates; and 0.9≤Al+Si+Mg, 0≤x≤0.2, 0≤y≤0.4,0.5≤z≤1 at the atomic rates.
