PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle in which spalling resistance at a portion near a discharging hole of the immersion nozzle is increased and a crack is thereby prevented which occurs from the vicinity of the discharging hole and causes cutting-off of the immersion nozzle. SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle for continuous casting is provided with: a hollow straight shell part 3 which is arranged in a vertical and longitudinal direction of a nozzle main body 1 and through which molten steel introduced from a molten steel introducing part 2 arranged at the upper end part of the nozzle main body 1 passes downwards; and one pair of right and left discharging holes 4 arranged at the lower part of the straight shell part 3 and for discharging the molten steel sideways from the side surface of the straight shell part 3; wherein each of the discharging holes 4 has at a part of the inner wall surface thereof, a refractory-coated layer 5 having lower heat conductivity than that of the refractory for nozzle main body peripheral the discharging hole, and an exposed part 6 of the refractory for the nozzle main body excepting the coated part with the coated layer 5 is concentrated on the outer surface of the nozzle main body 1.
