PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe dishwasher with excellent handleability, in which a washing tub can be automatically opened and closed. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes: the washing tub 2 provided with an opening 2a for taking dishes 3 in and out on the upper side; an outer frame 1 for holding the washing tub 2; a washing means provided in the washing tub 2; a moving means 10 for making it possible to pull out the washing tub 2 from the outer frame 1 to the front; and a driving means 15 for moving the washing tub 2 in front and back directions by the moving means 10. In the operation of pulling out the washing tub 2 to the front or housing it inside the outer frame 1 by the driving means 15, a moving speed from a prescribed position to stoppage is lower than a moving speed from the start of movement to the prescribed position.
