The invention relates to a method for producing a multilayer decorative film by printing an ink on a first surface of a thermoplastic base film after which a protective thermoplastic film is adhered to the first surface of the base film, wherein the ink comprises a monofunctional compound and is radiated after printing, such that a thermoplastic film forming agent is formed. The invention further relates to a multilayer decorative film comprising a thermoplastic base film provided with a printed decoration on a first surface and a protective film adhered to the first surface of the base film and wherein the decoration comprises a radiation cured thermoplastic film forming agent and a photo initiator.
