<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device in which water is prevented from staying in a fuel passage and an output is prevented from being reduced and durability is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell device is provided with a membrane electrode assembly composed of an electrolyte membrane pinched by a fuel electrode and an air electrode and a separator unit which is arranged between the membrane electrode assemblies neighboring with each other and forms a fuel passage between the fuel electrodes and an air passage between the air electrodes. A bottom surface of the fuel passage is formed in inclination to form a water passage. Water in each of fuel chambers moves downward by gravity and flows alongside the bottom surface by gravity and is exhausted out from a stack unit. While the fuel cell is in operation or in stoppage, an inside of the fuel chamber is decompressed through an exhausting hole and water is drained positively and water can be removed completely. Since a water stay in the bottom surface of the fuel chamber is prevented, power generating performance is not lowered to prevent reduction of an output of the fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
