<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation retrieval system easy for a user to use and understand. <P>SOLUTION: The translation retrieval system includes a field-based dictionary database in which field-based dictionaries constitute a hierarchical structure. This system further includes a retrieval object information fetching means for prompting a user to designate a character string and a field to be retrieved; a retrieval means for retrieving a translated word of the retrieval character string fetched by the retrieval object information fetching means for the field fetched by the retrieval object information fetching means in the field-based dictionary database, performing the retrieval, when the translated word cannot be retrieved, for a field in a higher layer on the hierarchical structure, until the translated word can be retrieved; and a retrieval result presentation means for presenting the retrieval result by the retrieval means to the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
