PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film selecting device and so on, by which an optical film is selected in such a way that most desirable display performance is obtainable in various real surroundings of use.

SOLUTION: The optical film selecting device 100 selects either of kinds of optical films 13 in relation to an image display section 10 in which the optical film 13 is disposed on the front side of a display screen to display a two-dimensional image, and is equipped with: an optical sensor 20 to detect an object image on the periphery of the display side of the image display section 10; and a film selecting means to select whichever optical film out of a plurality of optical films with different optical characteristics in accordance with a result of detection of the optical sensor 20.
