摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision prediction apparatus for accurately recognizing a front obstacle which highly likely collides with one's own vehicle, and therefore has improved accuracy in collision prediction and judgment. <P>SOLUTION: A collision prediction ECU 11 of the collision prediction apparatus 10 estimates the presence state of a detected front obstacle. In this case, the ECU 11 estimates the presence state based on road shape data supplied from a navigation ECU 21 of a navigation apparatus 20. Also, the ECU 11 confirms and corrects the calculated amounts of the road gradient. In this case, the ECU 11 corrects the amounts of the gradient based on road gradient data supplied from the ECU 21. Also, the ECU 11 changes a collision avoidance time Tc based on traveling environment data supplied from the ECU 21. Furthermore, the ECU 11 judges whether or not its own vehicle has passed a gate by acquiring an ETC gate passage signal from the ECU 21.
