<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image processing apparats, a document reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and a computer program, in which documents can be classified without preliminary registration of format information of document or the like, and a recording medium recording the computer program. <P>SOLUTION: A similarity calculation process section 224 registers the largest number of votes obtained of the image of a first document, the index representing the document, and the category of the document into a category table. For the images of the documents being successively read after the document being read first, the similarity calculation process section 224 determines the similarity of the documents based on the result of the voting input from a vote process section 223. When the similarity is lower than a threshold value, determining that the images are not similar to the image of the document registered in the category table, the similarity calculation process section 224 registers the indices representing the documents, the largest numbers of votes obtained of the documents and new categories into the category table, and outputs the result of the determination (classification signal). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
