PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress image defects due to uneven nip pressure applied to a belt and to suppress increase in size in a belt fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a fixing member having an outer peripheral surface abutting on an image carrying surface of a recording material; a pressure member having an outer peripheral surface brought into contact with a face opposite to the image carrying surface of the recording material; a magnetic force generation member and a ferromagnetic member magnetically attracted to this member, which are included in the fixing member or the pressure member; and an attraction member magnetically attracted to the magnetic force generation member and the ferromagnetic member. The fixing member or the pressure member including the magnetic force generation member and the ferromagnetic member is a flexible member, and the ferromagnetic member has a shape projecting from an inner peripheral surface of this flexible member toward a fixing nip between the fixing member and the pressure member.
