PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input impedance measuring instrument and method, which prevents an alternating current signal source from being defective or damaged, and dispenses with the expensive alternating current signal source having a high rated voltage and current, so as to reduce a measuring cost. SOLUTION: The first coil of a transformer or an inductor is connected in series between a direct current power source for generating a direct current and a direct current load device, and an alternating current signal used when measuring an input impedance of the direct current load device is supplied from an alternating current signal source connected to the second coil of the transformer, an alternating current signal source connected in parallel to an input terminal of the direct current load device, or an alternating current signal source connected in parallel to the inductor. The alternating current signal source is insulated in a direct current from the direct current power source, by the transformer or a capacitor. An alternating current voltage and an alternating current input into the direct current load device are measured respectively under this condition, and the input impedance is calculated based on measured values of the alternating current voltage and the alternating current.
