PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for changing the force control gain and a die cushion control device capable of easily and correctly changing the force control gain according to the characteristic and the press condition of a machine. SOLUTION: The die cushion control device for performing the force control of a die cushion for generating a predetermined force between the die cushion and a slide of a press machine by a servo motor comprises: a movement amount acquisition unit 2 for acquiring the in movement amount difference between the two under a condition in which the slide and the die cushion are collided with each other and the force is applied therebetween; a spring constant calculation unit 3 for calculating the spring constant of a press functional structure part based on the predetermined proportional relationship established between the difference in movement amount and the force when the press functional structure part including the slide and the die cushion is regarded as an elastic structure; and a force control gain changing unit 4 for changing the force control gain based on the calculated spring constant from the predetermined proportional relationship established between the force control gain expressed as the ratio of the force deviation to the speed command value and the reciprocal of the spring constant.
