Guide rails (11) extending in the adjustment direction of an armrest (6) is arranged on the motor vehicle door. A slide (2) being guided on the slide rails is connected to the armrest through couplers (3,4) so that the armrest is mounted on the guide device through the couplers and slide. Also, the armrest is driven along the adjustment direction with the adjusting movement of the slide along the guide rails. The armrest is locked in an adjustment position by locks.
