The engine has a hydraulic valve resting mechanism actuated with an oil pressure controlled/regulated by a hydraulic control-/regulation device (71). The mechanism is attached at a valve actuating device (34) executing an open-close-operation of an engine valve (30). The valve is arranged in a cylinder head (15) of an engine body (11) in an openable and closeable manner. The device is arranged at the body directly above a section of the body corresponding to the cylinder, which is visualized from the cylinder, where the cylinder reaches a cylinder resting condition.
