<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a customer from the trouble of visiting a store again for such reasons as being unable to undergo examination due to insufficient time for an examination procedure and to avoid losing the chance of acquiring customers. <P>SOLUTION: A contract reception terminal has two operation modes, i.e., a contract mode in which the terminal is operated by a customer and connected to an operator terminal to perform a contract procedure, and an acceptance mode in which the information required for contract examination is obtained from the customer.
