PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlamp capable of arbitrary light distribution design which is not affected by a partition line of the step by installing a diffusion control step corresponding to a second reflection control surface of a reflector at the front lens. SOLUTION: The headlamp is provided with a light source 20 and a light distribution control reflector 14 in a lamp room and has second reflection control surfaces 14a31-a34 which reflection form right and left diffusion light and are different from a basic paraboloid provided at the reflector 14. Right and left diffusion control steps 13a1-a3 which control right and left diffusion of outgoing light corresponding to the reflection control surface are provided at the front lens 12, and the control light is introduced only inside the partition line of the control steps 13a1-a3. Since the second reflection control surface 14a31-a34 and the right and left diffusion control steps 13a1-a3 are appropriately arranged, and desired light distribution which is controlled in right and left diffusion angles is introduced in a prescribed region of a basic light distribution pattern formed by the reflector 14 and not affected by the partition line of the control steps 13a1-a3, freedom of light distribution design of the headlamp is greatly relaxed.
