摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device such that liquid crystal molecules can easily be aligned into a bend state, a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal device, an electronic apparatus, and a projector. SOLUTION: Some of liquid crystal molecules 51 enter a recessed part 30b formed on a top surface 30a of a projection portion 30 and liquid crystal molecules 51a are directed perpendicularly to a substrate surface nearby an opening portion of the recessed part 30b. When initial transition operation is performed by applying a voltage to a liquid crystal layer 5 in this state, bend alignment is propagated to liquid crystal molecules 51a as nuclei nearby the opening portion of the recessed part 30b. Consequently, all the liquid crystal molecules 51 can be aligned into a bend state easily as compared with a case wherein the voltage for the initial transition operation is applied in the absence of the projection portion 30.
