PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device, wherein a long damage crossing a current path is prevented from being caused between a contact region and a light emission region of an electrode layer including electrodes of a light emitting element. SOLUTION: The light emitting device has a substrate 10, a wiring layer 19 formed on the substrate 10, an insulating layer 20 formed on the wiring layer 19, an OLED 70 formed on the insulating layer 20, and a second electrode layer 24 as a cathode of the OLED 70. The insulating layer 20 encloses a portion of a top surface of a second electrode power line 17 to define the contact region 81. There are two or more points facing a center point of the light emission region E where the OLED 70 in a periphery of the contact region 81, and the periphery of the contact region 81 may be bent or refracted in the section formed by connecting those two or more points.
