CIRCULATING DRILLING DEVICE AND SWIVEL JOINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulating drilling device having enhanced working efficiency since gravels can be easily removed when the drilling pipe is clogged with gravels and a swivel joint so formed that the life of the bearing is extended by preventing water from leaking into the bearing for both normal and reverse circulating drilling methods. SOLUTION: This circulating drilling device comprises a selector valve 11 for selectively connecting the delivery port 9a of a supply pump 9 to the conduit 12 of the swivel joint 5 or a pipe 13 installed in a vertical hole 3 and selectively connecting the suction port 10a of a suction pump 10 to the pipe 10 or the conduit 12. A packing for preventing water from leaking into the bearing is installed between the housing of the swivel joint and a drive tube. A grease nipple is fitted into a through hole extended from the outside of the housing to the bearing. A blind plug with a hole having a small hole in the through hole extended from the outside of the housing to the bearing is fitted to the opposite side of the through hole.
