PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rain cover device for an automobile which is compact in size as much as possible, totally thin in the thickness for storage in a storage part, expandable and usable to 180°, and capable of minimizing the projection of a waterproof sheet from a frame member by adequately treating the overlap of the waterproof sheet when it is stored. SOLUTION: The rain cover device comprises a rain cover 10 with a plurality of frame members 11 in an overlapping and turnable manner on a supporting shaft 13x, a storage part 20 for storing the rain cover, and a driving unit 30 having an output shaft 30x for turning the frame members 11 which are mounted around the supporting shaft 13x of the rain cover part 10 so as to be turnable. In the rain cover part 10, the plurality of frame members 11 are formed of strip-like thin plates extending in the radial direction, a waterproof sheet is covered on top surfaces of the plurality of frame members 11, the frame members on the drawing-out side when opened are fixed to the output shaft 30x so that the width of the waterproof sheet 12 between the frame member 11 and the frame member 11 adjacent to each other on the outer circumferential edge of the rain cover 10 does not exceed the width of the frame members 11 in a hanging manner when the sheet is stored.
