The method involves evaluating rotational characteristic of vehicle wheels i.e. front wheels and rear wheels. A pressure loss at vehicle tyres is determined by a rotation model-based common analysis of the torsional swinging characteristics of the vehicle wheels, where the front wheel and rear wheel of a same vehicle side is commonly considered in the rotation model (2). The rotation model is based on the temporal progress of angular speeds of the vehicle wheels, where the angular speeds are determined with the aid of wheel speed sensors. An independent claim is also included for a tyre pressure monitoring system.
