The device (1) has a chain drive (2) with a drive chain wheel (12) arranged at an end of a crank shaft in a torque proof manner. An output chain wheel (14) is attached to an aggregate e.g. cam shaft (4), and is connected with the drive chain wheel of the crank shaft in a form fit manner via a control chain (20). A drive tooth wheel for the aggregate is arranged on a drive shaft of the aggregate in a torque proof manner. The control chain is engaged in an outer tooth system of a sun wheel, and a drive tooth wheel of the aggregate acts together with an inner tooth system of the sun wheel.
