An outdoor unit for an air conditioner, having improved assemblability and parts commonality. The outdoor unit (1) has a bottom frame (2), a generally L-shaped heat exchanger (3), and a casing (6). The generally L-shaped heat exchanger (3) is disposed on the bottom frame (2). The generally L-shaped heat exchanger (3) extends from the rear face side to the side face side of the outdoor unit. The casing (6) covers at least a side of the heat exchanger (3). The casing (6) has at least either of support parts (10, 11). The support parts (10, 11) are formed integrally with the side of the casing (6) so as to project to the inside of the casing (6). The support parts (10, 11) support the U-shaped tube portions (12) of a heat transmission tube projecting from a side face end of the heat exchanger (3).
