[PROBLEMS] To provide a vaporization member to be used in a device for the deodorization with an aromatic deodorant which member exhibits a large amount of vaporization; and a device for the deodorization with an aromatic deodorant. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The invention provides a vaporization member to be used in a device for the deodorization with an aromatic deodorant for vaporizing an aromatic deodorant liquid sucked up through a core material by bringing the core material into contact with the liquid, which comprises a swelling layer containing a water-absorbing and-swelling resin, particularly, an at least two-layer vaporization member to be used in a device for the deodorization with an aromatic deodorant, which comprises a swelling layer containing a water-absorbing and -swelling resin and a nonswelling layer containing an aromatic deodorant liquid diffusing material as the essential layers and in which the layers are laminated in such a way that the swelling layer lies above the nonswelling layer. These vaporization members exhibit larger amounts of vaporization per unit volume than those of filter papers for aromatics. Since the swelling layers of the vaporization members swell when impregnated with an aromatic deodorant liquid, the layers serve as indicator showing the existence of the liquid.
