<p>[PROBLEMS] In a RAID system, to provide a novel storage system wherein even when the number of connected storage devices is increased, the number of signal lines is not increased; and to provide a novel method of data transfer wherein even when the transfer speed on the side of IDE device is low, high-speed data transfer can be carried out. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] RAID system (10) as a storage system having one RAID controller (11) linked to ATA host and multiple IDE devices (12A to 12D, 22A to 22D) mutually connected by IDE buses (13 to 15, 23 to 25) characterized in that not only are at least two IDE devices connected to IDE bus 1 channel but also the RAID controller and the individual IDE devices are connected to each other by common data bus and common address bus within the same channel.</p> |
