PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of identifying a living organism-derived molecule by mass spectrometry.
SOLUTION: The molecule is identified based on an accurately identified mass-to-charge ratio of the molecule, and further at least one physicochemical property such as an elution time or a charge state. A physicochemical property may be further used additionally thereto. An experimentally determined accurate mass and physicochemical property can be compared thereafter by a look-up table of information. The look-up table may generated, or the physicochemical property of a data in a known database may be calculated. The ability of recognizing and preferably identifying the same molecule in two different samples may be used for determining whether a specified biological molecule is expressed differently or not in an experimental sample, compared with a control sample.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
