PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of adding location information of a subject, so as to subsequently determine whether the location information added to image data is the location information of the subject or the location information of the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A CPU part in the imaging apparatus 1 detects GPS information S12 of the subject, on the basis of both GPS information S11 detected by a GPS unit 15 integrally attached or connected to the imaging apparatus 1, and distance information A from the imaging apparatus 1 to the subject, which is detected by a range finder 16 integrally attached or connected to the imaging apparatus 1. The CPU part in the imaging apparatus 1 adds identification information being an effect that the GPS information S11 is the GPS information of the GPS unit 15 when the information S11 is added to the image data, and also adds identification information being an effect that GPS information S12 is the GPS information of the subject when the information S12 is added to the image data.
