PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductive belt having superior electrical characteristics such that a resistance change due to transfer voltage is prevented and high-quality transferred images can be obtained stably over a long period of time, and also having superior physical characteristics of cracks and breakages due to the load applied in the width direction of the belt hardly occur and stable use is possible, even after a long-term running because of superior durability. SOLUTION: The semiconductive belt comprises 70-80 wt.% of a polyimide resin and 30-20 wt.% of a carbon black, having a volatile matter content of 2-6% manufactured by an oil furnace method and has a surface resistivity of 1×10<SP>8</SP>-1×10<SP>14</SP>Ω/square, wherein the polyimide resin is a copolymer obtained by imidating substantially equimolar amounts of a biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component comprising 15-50 mol% of an asymmetric biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component and 80-50 mol% of a symmetric 3,3',4,4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid component, and an aromatic diamine.
