PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an excessive increase in gain caused by DC offset arising from a change in gain when setting the gain of a variable gain amplification portion inside an RF receiving portion which constitutes a wireless communication apparatus. SOLUTION: When setting the gain of the amplification portion 21 which constitutes the RF receiving portion 4 from a gain automatic adjustment portion 17, it is done through a delay control portion 22. Every time there is a change in gain at a predetermined gain setting frequency, the delay control portion 22 operates in such a manner as to start normal gain control after the passage of a predetermined delay time from the change in gain.
