PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner fixing method by which an image with high definition and high quality is obtained in a fixing system of an electromagnetic induction heating system. SOLUTION: In the toner fixing method, a coil section which generates a magnetic flux and a heating member which heats under the magnetic flux are used. The coil section is disposed so as to sandwich front and back sides of the heating member, a toner used contains at least a modified layered inorganic mineral modified with organic ions and contains wax in an amount of 2-7 mass% of the total mass of the toner when the heat absorption value of the wax measured by a DSC (differential scanning calorimeter) method is expressed in terms of mass, and the amount of the wax present in a depth area from the surface of each toner particle to 0.3μm is 0.05-0.16 in terms of an intensity ratio of a peak (2,850 cm<SP>-1</SP>) resulting from the wax to a peak (828 cm<SP>-1</SP>) resulting from a binder resin (P2,850/P828) measured by an FTIR-ATR (Attenuated Total Reflection infrared spectroscopy) method.
