The device has a flow channel (126) with a flow channel wall held in a bypass-part (142) i.e. plug-in sensor, which is brought in alignment to a main flow direction in a fluid medium. The flow channel is formed such that the flow channel is passed into the bypass-part by the fluid medium. The flow channel wall is provided in a region with flow grooves (314). A sensor unit i.e. hot film air mass sensor, is mounted in a measuring channel (138). A main flow channel (128) and/or the measuring channel are provided with the flow grooves.
