TOILET DISCHARGE VALVE

Disclosed are valve assemblies for controlling flow from a toilet bowl (2 2) to a trap (26) way. In one form there is a cartridge unit (28) in which a pivotable gate (40) is mounted. The gate can swing from a blocking/closing position to a position in which it is essentially hidden away in a recess ou t of the main flow path. The surface of the gate (40) facing the bowl is inw ardly dished to further facilitate flow optimization.
