<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system equipped with a color image forming apparatus and a monochrome image forming apparatus, which can print images independently of each other, wherein power saving is attained by changing the setting of fixing temperature in the midst of standby in a fixing device of each image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The setting of the fixing temperature in the midst of standby is changed for the fixing device inside the monochrome image forming apparatus 2 and the fixing device inside the color image forming apparatus 1 based on the coexistence rate of color data and monochrome data in printing data.
