<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct brightness and color balance with high accuracy and at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: Image data are converted into a color system having components with respect to brightness, brightness components are analyzed by the color system after conversion and a brightness correction amount is determined. A color balance correction amount is determined so that each tone value of image data reaches a proper ratio. A correspondence table for generating corrected image is generated based on the determined brightness correction amount and the color balance correction amount. Because a situation where brightness correction affects color balance is avoided by correcting brightness by the color system having brightness components, both the brightness and the color balance can be corrected accurately. Complicated correction calculation taking a processing time can be omitted by performing correction processing referring to the correspondence table, so that correction processing can be performed at high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
