<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell in which an electrolyte film is retained in a proper humidity even when power generation is stopped, in which condensation of water in a space inside a cell is prevented, and in which stable start and stop operation can be carried out. <P>SOLUTION: In the solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell equipped with open-close valves 6, 7 as sealing means of sealing a reaction gas space of a fuel gas flow passage side when power generation is stopped, as a means of preventing water staying to the reaction gas space, this is equipped with a thermometer 10 to measure temperature of the cell, a dew point meter 9 to measure a dew point in the reaction gas space, a discharge circuit for atmospheric air with the open-close valve 8 to carry out discharge of a gas in the reaction gas space into the atmospheric air, and a control device 11 to input a measurement signal of the temperature 10 and the measurement signal of the dew point meter 9 and to output a control signal to the open-close valve 8 of the discharge circuit for atmospheric air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
