<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which deterioration of catalyst due to impurities such as sulfur compounds or the like in the atmosphere is prevented, and power generation performance can be maintained and recovered. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system has a stack structure in which a plurality of unit cells 1a with an electrolyte membrane 2, two sheets of electrode catalyst layers 3, 4 pinching this electrolyte membrane 2 from both sides, and two sheets of gas diffusion layers 5, 6 installed at the outside of these electrodes catalyst layers 3, 4 are laminated, includes the fuel cell 1 in which electric power generation is carried out by making a fuel gas and oxygen supplied to the electrode catalyst layers 3, 4 react electrochemically, and includes a catalyst activity recovery means in which the catalyst activity of the electrode catalyst in the electrode catalyst layers 3, 4 is recovered by increasing the amount of water discharged from the catalyst layers more than a prescribed amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
