<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump container that satisfactorily stores tooth paste, ensures a fixed quantity of paste used each time regardless of a user, and can discharge medicine by a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: The pump container for tooth paste includes an upright laminated bottle formed from at least two layers, i.e., inflexible external layer and flexible internal layer, and has a mouth at the top, and a pump dispenser whose nozzle discharging opening has a cross-sectional area of 5 to 10 mm<SP>2</SP>. The pump dispenser is designed such that the leading end of a pump suction opening is located, from the bottle bottom, in the range of about one to three tenth of the length from the bottle shoulder to the bottom in the depth direction, a difference between the capacity of a cylinder when a spring is pulled and that when it is pressed is in the range of 0.1 to 1 cm<SP>3</SP>, and a metal ball valve is disposed in the discharge passage of a discharge pipe so as to have play, and pump pressure is 9 to 25 N.
