PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component of a thrust bearing, which is manufactured in a simplified process and consequently at a lowered manufacturing cost, and has improved mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The components 12 and 13 of the thrust bearing are made from a high-carbon steel which includes, by wt.%, 0.9 to 1.2% carbon, 1.2 to 1.7% chromium, 0.1 to 0.5% manganese and 0.15 to 0.35% silicon; and are manufactured from a cold-finished steel strip which has been prepared by cold-rolling the above high-carbon steel and has a 0.2% yield strength of 350 N/mm<SP>2</SP>or more.
