PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partial coating device for an object to be coated which can partially apply a coating material to the object to be coated and does not waste the coating material. SOLUTION: In this partial coating device, the object to be coated 3 is conveyed by allowing its passage under a flow coater 2 which supplies the coating material 1 in a curtain-like downward flowing fashion, and the partial coating operation is performed by spreading the coating material 1 flowing down from the flow coater 2 over a part of the surface of the object to be coated 3. In addition, a recovery means 4 is installed near the coating material 1 to be sent flowing down in a curtain fashion, and an air blowing means 5 is also provided that creates the downward flow of the coating material 1 to the recovery means 4 by blowing air to the curtain flow coating material 1 during the time of no need for coating.
